Love Songs for Arsonists

Album-Cover1
This cover art has been brought to you by The Creeper Kids featured, the disturbed mind of one Brian Sfinas and my very own photography and editing skills. This is the stuff that nightmares are made of. You’re welcome.

This summer, I had the absolute pleasure of working with Brian Sfinas on his new album release Love Songs For Arsonists.  He approached me with a full-length album of songs that I instantly connected with and asked me to provide background vocals on several of the songs.  This actually expanded into providing vocals for more songs than initially planned.

The acoustic version of the album was set to repeat in my car and I spent weeks learning my parts.  When we finally made it into the studio, the tracks were much easier to finalize than I thought they would be.  Of course, this was only my second time in a studio working on a recording and so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect.

What began as a fully acoustic indie/nerd rock album turned into a full production and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

Standing in the studio, my face near the vocal microphone, my knees weak – I sang my heart out and enjoyed every minute of it.  Sfinas is a creative force to be reckoned with.  His superior talents include writing, drawing, voice acting, fabulous web design and obviously composing raw, emotional and deep music.  It was a pleasure to work with him on this project and I look forward to continuing and expanding our collaboration.

If you want to hear a sample, check it out!  I finally worked up the courage to put it out to the world.
