For Him

I left you today, swathed in down.
Your eyes were drawn tight as Roman blinds.
Your face aimed skyward, calm as a newborn.
I bathed in your scent and leaned over to kiss you goodbye.

Every time I shift or focus hard enough, I can sense you.
It is as though I am wrapped in you.
I am the sheep, you are the wolf.
Together we make something entirely fervent.
