Winter Morning, 2014

It was early morning during our visit to Maine.  We had stayed up for the better part of 24 hours straight.  “Come watch the sunrise,” he said.  There’s a beautiful shot of that elsewhere which I haven’t posted, but will at some point.  (And really, if you want to see more of my work – because not everything is placed here – you should really find me on other social media sites).

After the sun crested over the White Mountains, I looked to my right and saw this lovely half moon still wide awake high above the trees.  And while the sunrise was beautiful, I also loved the desolation of this shot.  To me, it represents hanging on past the point where you should have.
